Beehive Design Collective Comes to Boston

ftaa gate Beehive Design Collective Comes to Boston

The Beehive Design Collective spent some time this weekend at Boston’s Lucy Parsons Center, and will be making a few other appearances in the coming days.  Tonight they’re at BU Central (775 Commonwealth Ave. – 7:00PM) and at Emerson College tomorrow (216 Tremont St, in the Bill Bordy Auditorium at 2:30PM.)  They’ll wind up their Boston area appearances at the Heartbeat Collective in Jamaica Plain (35 Wyman St. – 7:30PM) on Wednesday, November 12th.

This presentation will feature a brand new interactive graphics workshop about North-South Solidarity with scenes from MESOAMERICA RESISTE the final epic chapter in their globalization trilogy. The workshop will deal specifically with the local effects of the NAFTA-style Free Trade zone known as Atlantica, making striking connections with the Mesoamerican experience of free trade as felt over the past decade. It takes a unique approach at examining cross-border and cross-cultural solidarity.

Oh! The Beehive folks are super cool! I saw them in Ithaca, NY, and somewhere I have a screened patch on recycled-plastic-bottle fabric. It’s great, it has a roller-skating revolutionary ant on it! I don’t think I’ll make it to BU tonight…but maybe next time…
