Social Design Site

Social Design Site is an awareness-raising catalog of artists and designers efforts to better the world.  Aiming “to foster a discourse on social design through our international online platform and the organization of and participation in projects, exhibitions, conferences, lectures, etc.,” they started their effort in 2007.  Their team recently redesigned the website, where you can now grab an RSS feed of new projects.

I love their motto: “We cannot not change the world,” by which they mean to convey not only urgency, but the notion that we are agents of change whether we intend it or not; its thus a matter of how we shape our impact.

    I am seeing an increasing number of designers who refuse to think that there are limits to what our work can achieve.
